Thanks! My significant other and I used to write scenarios and run sessions of the game "Fuzzy Heroes" in which players use their stuffed animals and toys (pre-dating "Toy Story" btw) -- so it became very easy for me to see from the stuffies' point of view.
Even (or especially) with impaired vision, a child can get the perspective a grown-up fails to grasp. But it's never too late to "see" the world their way. =)
That poor toy-- made with such love and purpose, only to be immediately rejected by its child. It's nice that it was found by someone who would appreciate it!
My mother brought us a couple of cute stuffed animals from garage sales/thrift stores-- because, as she put it, "They haven't been loved!"
One of those toys, a brown teddy bear, went to camp with our daughter for several years, and the plush stuffed elephant is one of the few toys still out on display in her room. :)
I got an unusual-looking second-hand plush once in my teens, and planned on putting it in my first car. (So you never travel alone) Alas, its age was too much and eventually its seams burst with cloth too frayed to repair.
Within months of getting my first car, I was given a Pound Puppy, who navigated for me for many years. Today I travel with a lemur and a rubber duck. =)
