I handed in the last assignment I will have at UMass last night. It was a paper for my Celtic Paganism independent study, and the topic was the syncretism of solar gods in the Romano-Celtic world. I am terrible at updating my livejournal during the school year.

Yesterday I found out that my application to Yale was rejected. Today I found out that my application to Harvard was accepted!

My applications for Graduate School are due very soon; however, two of my professors have yet to complete my recommendations and they have been very elusive lately. I have sent several e-mails already and it's becoming increasingly redundant. I even left messages with their secretaries! I sent my Dell laptop in to be fixed several weeks ago and am STILL waiting. In the meantime, my iBook broke so I was without a computer for about a week (I got it back last night). Unfortunately, I lost everything I had, contacts, pictures, essays, etc. I've been making trips to Amherst so I can use the library computers to work on graduate school ( Read more... )

Being at home has been surprisingly beneficial. There was a period of time at the end of this past semester where I was showing symptoms of mono; no matter how much I slept I was always tired and my entire body ached. Thanksgiving break is already over, but you would never know considering that just today the thermometers were reading somewhere near sixty-three degrees. Needless to say, break was all right.
