I'm getting very fed up with feeling unwell, I've had enough of coughs, runny noses, aching muscles, headaches, exhaustion, the lot. I want it all to be gone as its really getting in the way of my life
( Read more... )
I don't like being ill because it makes me extreamly unmotivated (more than normal). In the same way that if it's sunny outside and i'm warm i'll feel more engergetic and optimistic than if i'm cold and it's dark and rainy outside.
Hope you get better soon hun. I'd come over and bring you muffin if i knew were you lived, heh.
I don't eat cheese purely because I don't like it, which I suppose can lead to a very slight degree of smug satisfaction in that I can do something (live happily without cheese) that most people claim they couldn't. *shrugs* I'd probably enjoy food more if I wasn't so fussy. Hope you get well soon.
If I had to have a food allergy or intollerance, then cheese would probably be about the worst one for me to have.
Life without cheese would be horrible.
Although, cheese has barely any lactose in it. If you can have goats milk and are lactose intollerant, then you should be able to have normal 'cow cheese'.

I have eff-all sympathy for those with an allergy who then have 'just a bit'. I love orange juice, but citrus is bad for my hands and joints, so I no longer have it. Sure, not having it kinda sucks, but having a bit every now and again would be dumb.
See, now I can be smug: life without cheese would be horrible for you but it's an everyday reality for me that I bear happily (I'm not lactose intolerant, I just don't like cheese).
I've had a run of illness lately too, so sympathies coming your way! I managed to catch a throat bug, then a week later the flu, then a week after that a kidney infection. Marvellous, especially for someone with no sick pay. Going to be a light Xmas for me I think :o(
I got so bored while I was off work that I was reduced to tears. Daytime TV sucks, and I ended up incredibly lonely.
how can a subset of those people seem almost 'proud' of that fact that they are perminantly ill and unable to work?
they have to be proud of something....? when i'm unemployed i feel cr*p and worthless but people don't want to hear anyone moaning all the time so telling them cheerfully that i quit my job seems better than the truth. meh. maybe they're trying to convince themselves that they're not a waste of air.
Now to me being cheerful and flippant over losing your job is what doesn't make sense as I know I'd be upset. I can't sympathise with someone who is being flippant and claiming not to care.
You are telling me that you do care about being out of work - so I can sympathise and offer support, something I couldn't do if I thought you were not bothered. Now comes the step forward - to investigate what you can do to be a contributing member of society and to help you find things that you can do and can be proud of.
I must also say I whole heartedly agree with that post. I only wish more people had that attitude, this country would be a much better place if they did.
I'm a fan of always looking on the bright side and not being overly negative. The problem with that though is that sometimes it's not good to let others think all is fine when it's not.
However, mewing sympathy-whores can take a running jump as far as I'm concerned!
