weird

So I got a call around 1 AM this morning from Jenna, my oldest step-daughter who is over at the college. Apparently something really weird happened in her bathroom tonight. She was watching TV with her boyfriend earlier when she heard this dripping noise. She actually thought it was raining outside, so she payed it no mind until she got up to go ( Read more... )

Well shit, her boyfriend is a putz for not staying with her since there were going to be people she didn't know in her apartment. And did anybody get inside the other apartment to tell them to turn off the shower?

He's a good guy really. I just don't think he thought about it at all. I don't think that he realized that there were going to be people there. I don't think Jenna realized either till he had already left. But still. He's crazy going disc golfing at midnight!

The water stopped running on it's own after a little bit. I'm not sure if they ever got into the other apartment or not. I think everybody was just real confused last night about what was going on, and how to handle the situation.

Crazy stuff, I'll tell you. ;-)

That's odd about the water. But its best to have it looked at. If it was leaking into her apartment then the ceiling probably has some water damage or can get mold. I had a ceiling cave in on me once. I was lying down in my room, and decided to get out of bed and get a soda. I got a call and answered it in the kitchen. It had been pouring for at least an hour, and I had noticed before I went into the kitchen that my wall was wet. Didn't think much of it, but when I was on the phone in the kitchen, I heard a huge crash and then water. The entire corner of the ceiling came down on my bed. With the help of my neighbors, we got over 300 gallons of water out of my bedroom before they managed to close the ceiling up and move the pipe coming into my room ( ... )

It really is odd. I believe that they fixed everything up today like it's supposed to be. I've actually talked to Jenna, but I didn't ask about it, and she seemed pretty happy, so I think it all worked out fine. Thank goodness! It's a school dorm/apartment and you better believe the school is gonna take care of something like that. I'd imagine that they don't want to get sued because a ceiling fell on one of their students!

That's crazy about what happened to you though. I bet that scared you to death and you you were so glad to have some neighbors who were willing to help remedy that situation. Sheesh! I can't imagine that happening. It's awful.

I would imagine that would make you very wary about ceilings leaking.
