Just got back from the midnight showing of OOtP!

I don't know what anyone else thinks yet, but I was very satisfied indeed.

I'm not going to see it until Sunday. But spill! Did Sirius get sucked into the viel? What did it look like? Did Lucius get hauled away like a mad gorgeous man?

LITTLE BIT OF SPOILER SO DON'T READ! beletseri July 12 2007, 00:53:37 UTC
BIT OF SPOILER!!!!

That was just for any poor unsuspecting person that might stumble upon this.

But yes, Sirius did get sucked into the veil. It was pretty awesome I think. Bellatrix hit him with a curse and he just kinda stumbled back into the veil. I can't exactly describe the look on his face, but it was kinda like surprise and remorse I think. Then he just got kinda sucked back and up and away and he faded from site. I think that whole scene was beautifully done, but kinda hard to describe.

LOL! There is a good bit of Lucius in it at the end, but you don't get to see him hauled away unfortunately. I don't want to reveal too much or spoil anything for you. I loved the movie though, and will be going to see it again real soon!

I recall in the book Sirius' face when he got sucked into the veil is as you described it, so that might be cool to see.

LOL, I was actually looking forward to seeing Lucius get hauled off, only because you KNOW he'd cause a huge stink!

LOL! It's true. It would have been hilarious to see Lucius get hauled off. Maybe in the deleted scenes on the dvd that will be in there. *crosses fingers*

Having been horribly disappointed in the last film, I decided to divorce myself completely (if possible) from the book or any expectations for this film. As a result, I thoroughly enjoyed the film, and I thought Dan Radcliffe pretty much carried it, and managed to do so credibly.

I'll probably type a review in a few days' after my thoughts coalesce.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. I leaned long ago that if I read the book right before the movie I get far too irritated with all the stuff that gets changed or left out to be able to enjoy it...

I think it's kinda weird that I can watch a movie, go read the book again, and watch the movie again, and be perfectly satisfied though. All of those changed don't bother me after I know what to expect I guess... LOL!

I have also started trying to view the books and the movie as two slightly different universes where the outcome is going to be the same, but sometimes the insides change up just a little bit. It makes for a much more enjoyable experience.

I can't wait to read your review if you decide to write one! Your reviews are so intelligently written and you always seem to make some really interesting points!

*hugs*

You make an excellent point, and that may be what's happened this time for me. I'm viewing the films and the books as sort of variations on a theme -- something like every single HG/SS fanfiction I've ever read. They all work with the same universe, just from a slightly different slant.

Thanks for the encouragement. I need to let it settle a bit.

It has taken me a very long time to get to that point. LOL!
