Worst. Morning. Ever.

Okay, so yesterday afternoon, just as I was about to go home, my boss (the solicitor I work for) tells me that he needs me to be at the city local court the next day because at that time he has to go to a Family Court conference. Note that I’ve never properly ( Read more... )

Oh my god, I can try to imagine how that would feel but I doubt my imagination even comes close. That's terrible. You did a wonderful job keeping yourself together.

I hope you have a much nicer day tomorrow.

Wow, I had a pretty bad day today too (forgetting everything that should not have been forgotten and hence getting told off by the RTA as well as missing a class I arrived in time for), but it's nothing compared to yours. That must have sucked, but at least you'll always remember this as your first time, and in years to come I think you'll find it quite funny when retold. It's probably not in the least amusing at the moment though. It's interesting how if the guy's a total dickhead we feel better, because it's not personal any more, even though that doesn't make him any more forgivable.

You dealt with it really well. I think I would've totally had a bawl in the toilet. LOL.

Sounds like you had a horrid day too!

Yeah... that's the only reason I typed it all up. I hope to one day look back on it and be like, "lol noob" at myself. :P

Starting up as a newbie in any career is usually embarassing and unpleasant. I'm sure you'll become muchos proficient with time, but good luck riding through the beginning.

Agree with ki_te, being a newbie in the workforce has loads of embarrassing moments. These moments will no doubt diminish as you become proficient at your role. I know exactly how you feel! I was in a rotational program for 2 years where we switched to a new role every 8 months. So I'm plenty familiar with the newbie experience. :P Just gotta tough it out. You did great on retaining your composure in front of the magistrate. ^^
