Background: Fifteen Years ago, due to a colony’s move towards independence, a war broke out between the Earth Federation and the Space Revolutionary Army (or Space Rebbellion). Eight months in, the SRA threatened crashed the colonies into Earth if the opposition didn’t surrender. To intercept this, EF deployed the Gundam unit; but, it could not prevent the colonies from falling onto Earth, resulting the near destruction of mankind when the colonies fell onto Earth.
Tiffa is a mysterious fifteen-year-old girl "kidnapped" by a group of plunderers called Vultures. Rike Anto, representative of Alternative Cooperation lab, employed a boy named Garrod Ran to board the Vultures’ ship, the Freiden, and rescue her. Taken back to Rike, Tiffa expressed a sudden fear towards him and both she and Garrod escape towards an old factory. Inside, Garrod found a Gundam X and used the G-control unit that he stole within the Freiden (as a “souvenir”) to activate it and defeat Rike’s MS group. Shortly afterward, Freiden caught up to them to take Tiffa back. Garrod escaped with her briefly, encountering a group of vicious bounty hunters who wanted the GX. The situation became desperate and Tiffa used her mysterious abilities to reveal the true power of the GX - the satellite cannon, activated by a system mounted on the moon. Garrod had the desire to protect Tiffa and used the cannon’s power to vaporize the hunters in a single shot. Both were saved, however, because of her Newtype powers, Tiffa felt the fear and pain of those who were killed in the blast and collapsed into a coma. The two were caught up by the Freiden crew and Garrod was imprisoned. It is learned that the Freiden’s captain, Jamil Neat, was also a Newtype and a GX pilot of the EF. He caused the tragedy of Earth fifteen years ago, and not wishing to repeat it, he promised to find and protect all Newtypes from being used.
Tiffa’s health took a sudden turn for the worse when a guy named Olba Frost, who the Freiden saved earlier, drugged her. An emergency attack on the Alternative Cooperation for medication was planned, but it turned out to be a setup by Olba and his older brother Shagia, who awaited the Freiden. Tiffa was taken to Alternative by Olba with his Gundam Ashtaron, and with the permission of Jamil, Garrod went out with Gundam X and fought the Frost Brothers with Witz and Roabea. Tiffa recovered, but Alternative deployed the large mobile armor Grandeen against the Freiden and the Frost Brothers, but it was destroyed along with the factory by GX’s satellite cannon. Tiffa was spared by the blast and Garrod began to develop a joint life with the Freiden crew.
While traveling, Garrod and Tiffa would start to get close to one another. Tiffa wasn’t very open to him though at first, and the crew member Tonya recommended Tiffa some lipstick. While looking for spare parts near an unstable power plant, Garrod fought the woman freelancer Enil El and had to be saved by Jamil before the plant blew up. The result left Jamil badly injured and Garrod ran away to sell the GX (and there seemed to be some quiet jealously tension between Sara and Tiffa). Fortunately, he returned when the Freiden was attacked by Enil and other Vultures. Jamil fully recovered and entrusted Tiffa’s care to Garrod.
Relying on a picture that Tiffa drew, Freiden group headed north to Fort Severn, where they meet a man-made Newtype name Caris Nautilus. Tiffa had a terrible dream of Garrod getting killed and didn’t want him to fight. As if expected, Garrod was royally defeated by Caris in his Bertigo unit, and Tiffa decided to go with Caris so Garrod wouldn’t get killed. Later, Garrod snuck into Fort Severn to rescue Tiffa of course and Freiden crew left the north after defeating the Fort’s mayor (and former SRA member) Nomoa and his Patulia mech.
Next visit was the Sea of Lorelei, where Garrod and Tiffa notice a microwave beam. Freiden crossed the sea in search for the source and it was learnt that members of the old Federation had built a new Gundam - Double X gandamu! Daboru! Eeeekkutsu!!!! Special ops brought the Freiden crew into Federation custody, and Katokk, a soldier who hated Newtypes, but felt some kind of understanding towards Tiffa after she prevented him from killing himself, helped Garrod to steal the Double X.
Further on the journey, the New Federation was legitimately founded and the Freiden crew briefly assisted the country of Estard. A relationship between Tiffa and Garrod shined here when Garrod became so focused on fighting that he began to visit Tiffa less. While Garrod fought Flash System tester Abel Bauer, a concerned Tiffa put herself into open danger for Garrod to notice her and he defeated Abel. This was during their travel towards the Newtype Research Institute after leaving Estard. At the NRI, Tiffa was captured by an agent of the Space Rebellion Nicola Fatis and taken to the colony Cloud Nine. Tiffa met the SRA president Zaidel Rasso, who firmly prescribed that Newtypes were born from space, and her existence (being from Earth) was hidden from the public. Zaidel also planned “Operation Daria”, an attack on Earth using a powerful colony laser. Nicolas and SRA colonel Lancerow Darwell started to grow an understanding towards Tiffa. Tiffa, reading into Zaidel’s heart, sensed a bad vibe from the president and she collapsed hearing the mysterious words of “D.O.M.E”. She accompanied Zidel on his flagship for Operation Daria.
Meanwhile, Garrod had loaded Double X on a space shuttle and made way towards Cloud Nine to save Tiffa, but not without trouble. With help of Satelicon member Paula Cis and her G-Falcon, Garrod rescued Tiffa from Zidel and stopped Operation Daria by destroying the colony laser. A warm reunion ended when the New Federation intercepted Garrod and Tiffa’s return to Earth. They surrendered, Paula included, after hearing that the Freiden crew were captured as well. Tiffa and Garrod met the NF leader Fixx Bloodman and Tiffa would exchange info about Zidel ONLY if Bloodman promised to release Jamil. Bloodman did not intend to keep promise; Tiffa sensed Bloodman’s deceit and also spoke out the words of “D.O.M.E on the moon”, which makes Bloodman pretty furious. D.O.M.E happened to be some kind of NF military secret. Tiffa and Garrod escape from imprisonment, rescued Paula from a shut hanger, and took back G-Falcon and Double X to join the rescued Jamil.
Controversy led to the SPA and the FE to go into war, and the Freiden crew pondered over on what to do next. Garrod and Tiffa finally exchange a kiss!! YES!
While Tiffa was resting (she collapsed again), D.O.M.E reached out into her dreams and told her to go to the moon. The crew went into space with the Freiden II and broke through the forces. Bit-controlled mecha guided everyone, including the leaders of the EF and the SRA, inside the moon and it was revealed that “D.O.M.E” was the first Newtype dismantled into genes and put into a moon base. D.O.M.E was alive, and Tiffa wanted to show what Newtypes really were. She also wanted to know herself. The truth about Newtypes was explained.
D.O.M.E explained that a “Newtype” was not an evolved human to be used or feared, or someone who has surpassed humanity, like the majority of the public thinks. It was an “illusion” and those who can see the future should develop the new age’s future on their own. The Old Age was over. Six months after meeting D.O.M.E and defeating the Frost Brothers, a peace negotiation team was made and Tiffa traveled the world along Garrod's side.
PERSON: The aftermath of the 7th Space Wars has left many kids like Tiffa with a rough life. Tiffa was introduced as a very shy and withdrawn girl who hardly spoke. Since she was younger, the Alternative Cooperation had been keeping her under constant research in order to learn about her enviable Newtype abilities, and this has been a recurring sign of greed throughout the Gundam X series. When Garrod saved her and took her to Alternative Cooperation lab leader Rike Anto, Tiffa reacted in a frightening manner.
Despite the bad past, Tiffa is a gentle and kind child who doesn't like violence. As expected from a quiet girl, she strongly communicates with body language. While traveling with the Freiden crew, she would gradually become more open and strong. This was thanks to Garrod Ran and the relationship that developed between them. Tiffa would remain shy and soft-spoken, but she would realize how important people were towards one another. Thus, she began to commune and react more, including with Garrod.
Furthermore, due to his kindness and passionate actions, Garrod has a very special place in Tiffa’s heart (and vice versa). When Garrod fought Abel Bauer and his G-Bits, Tiffa, who had been ignored by him since fighting in Estard, reached out to him at the battlefield and pointed out the real Abel. She also has high faith in him, even when he briefly left the Frieden. In another example, Garrod had proven Tiffa’s ill-fated future readings wrong many times, like when she expected him to die against Caris. Like with Abel and Caris, Tiffa would go into potential danger for Garrod (usually results in her being captured). Her signature quote is: "I believe in you."
Tiffa has various special abilities such as future foresight, telepathy, and a dream foresight. She can even read the feelings or intent of another person, even those who have died. This can influence her strongly; people’s terrible intents and agony can be so great, it can cause her to collapse. Also at one point, Tiffa’s Newtype abilities were hindered because she felt so lonely and depressed from Garrod ignoring her. This was when she sharply showed how much she loved Garrod, even though they never really say it in words.
