One of my 4th of July traditions is watching 1776 after the Boston Pops fireworks. It moves me to both laughter and tears all within 2 hrs of film. IN addition to those you posted, I love the part where John Adams asks the clerk with whom does he stand. Thecleark asnwers "I stand with General Washington." What a very personal perspective on how those secretly involved with the Continental Congress must have felt. Have a wonderful 4th!

dude 1776 FTW!!! i saw it on stage off-broadway.. john adams had the best lines ever.. and he was such a lovable grump.. ben franklin was awesome with his boozin' and womanizing... such a great musical!!
