There was a day, probably around the time I was 7 or 8, when I longed to have a dress with puffy sleeves. I remember watching Peanuts specials on tv and wanting nothing more than to have a dress like Lucy-blue with puffy sleeves. To me, it was the most beautiful dress in the world.
Luckily, I gained some fashion sense in my teen and adult years and lost the desire for the puffy. Unfortunately, others didn't because I've worn at least two bridesmaid dresses with puffy sleeves (my oh my, they were hideous-even beyond the sleeves). Be careful what you wish for, I guess. :P
Be careful what you wish for, indeed! I never really understood the function of the puffed sleeves. To make one look larger in the shoulders without the cumbersome need for shoulderpads, perhaps? :P
We only had to wear them two or three times, so it really wasn't so bad. It was embarassing, though, walking on stage with the silly dresses when the other choir wore lovely black dresses. Ah well. :D

I would give up choir in a millisecond if they tried to make me sing in electric blue puffed sleeves :/
