what's TESOL/TEFL qualification? how do i get it?? what jobs are best bet as far as entry level in publishing?

its kinda really hard to get jobs in publishing, something like 200 people applied for my lame ass job; pft

TEFL - Teacher of English as a Foreign Langauge.
TESOL - Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages.

you have to get certified. a lot of universities have university programmes for it (i think both 1-yr + 2-yr programs). also, (why did i write program the british way?), the programs you can do in spain or czech republic or whatever also qualify, if they are of the (i believe i'm correct with this) cambridge type.

(i think it's what im going to go back to school for as i'm pretty sure i want to do esl-teaching for my 'career'. anna claims is a highly growing education field. i dont know why she would know this. if i dont learn it via peace corps, i may go to south korea and make 1500+ a month with free housing doing it. learn korean! teach english! live life peacefully for a year! far away!)

oh hmm. i wonder why oxford univervisty press requires that? oh well, i'm super un-qualified for that anyways.

btw - i watched a show on CUNY tv last night about cesky budovice that ruleeeeed, i thought of you.

OH - i think OXFORD - not cambridge - is the one that supplies the BEST TEFL certificate. i can't remember, i get it all confused. there's so many kinds but talking to all these TEFL kids i know, there's one that's a LOT better than the other.

anyway, i don't know why oxford university press would require one. odd.

cesky budovice! so good! i told my class i was going to the peace corps and they were like, why? just go to prague and teach english. its a lot more fun.

my class is full of weirdos.
