fuck 401(k)

i know this sounds really immature but i think you and i are looking at everything wrong. we both need to plan for the future, say more so than some of our peers. BUT we also need to plan less than some of our peers in order to get into a more comfortable position.

i mean, even if you start a 401(k) at 30, youll be OKAY at 70 or whatevs and, chances are, you will have gotten more done to be where you want to be between now and then cuz youll have more money/time. blehh....

i duno. ask me again why i want to go to graduate school and spend 500$/month on grad school????

well, yeah but...401(k) is free money too. it all makes logical sense. and your investments grow exponentially more the longer you have them. given, i'm totally brainwashed by the financial planning class i took, but amy, they had GRAPHS. it's downright frightening how much we will need when we're old. and in all honesty i would probably just spend that money on stuff i don't need...

but spending money on grad school is a good thing to spend money on. not totally useless for the future. $ on gradschool = you are being responsible.

it's 500$/month for FREE tuition. !?

and i still dont know if i should go English (secondary) ED or Social Studies (secondary) ED. i mean, when i'm older the social studies would def. be better BUT now the english one would be better. but maybe 4-week TEFL certif + social studies ed can = english ed.

i want this job:
For teaching at primary and secondary schools we need experienced teachers. Professional teachers are preferred. All candidates are required to have a college or university-level degree, preferably in English or in a related field. Additional qualification in teaching English as a foreign language (e.g. RSA TEFL Certificate) is necessary for applicants who are graduates of courses in non-related subjects. Previous experience in teaching English in a classroom setting is greatly welcomed. High motivation is expected. These applicants will be given priority.

i think TEFL + social studies could equal english, especially abroad.

and how is it free if it's $500/month. is this at NYU? wtf?
