How about JD Robb's In Death series? It is a very long series and is futuristic. No vamps, weres or fae, but it is still soooo good.

I've been meaning to try those. The real problem with supplying Dad is the fact that I haven't bought books in a while since I have limited funds and no job. But I'll definitely give that series a try

That's wonderful news! England is one of my top two 'wish I could visit there someday places'. If you don't have time or internet access while you're across the pond, I hope you take a journal to write in and then you can gleefully regale us with tales of your tour.

Speaking of book pimping, you've probably already heard about this by now *g*, but just in case

you might have to get someone in your family to download this for you if you're overseas b/c "starting June 7 at noon and until July 5, the entire story will be available at www.breetanner.com for free".

I will be able to take my laptop, since my room with have wi-fi so i'll be sure to post so stuff about my trip. And I am so happy I get to go. It's been on my list of places I want to visit as well. I had heard about Bree and luckily I don't leave until the end of June, so I can read it before I leave. I do have to wait to see Eclipse until after I get back though. It releases the day I arrive in London

I've used this site before for out of print and hard to find books.
Typed in Kim Harrison's name in the author search and a bunch of books for purchase showed up in the results. Hope this helps your dad find the books he's missing.
