I pictured Bellatrix sorta similar, but I actually pictured her looking a lot like Nora Jane Noone, but with just a liiiiiitle bit of Angelina in there as well. At least, before she went to prison.

HBC was my absolute first choice for Bellatrix. I was a little disappointed when they cast Helen McCrory, and then when she got knocked up, I danced with joy. HBC has always been my Bella -- and everything I've seen from her has cemented my joy. The way she talks about Bella, I feel like she really gets the character, which makes me very happy.

As for Rodolphus, if Hans Matheson were just a tad older, he would so be my pick. I have him in mind whenever I write young!Rodolphus.

I don't mean any offence by this, but your picks just seem so... usual. Fantastic actors, all of them, no doubting, and some of my favourites in general, but I've always liked the idea of Bella and Rodolphus being more obscure, not quite as traditionally gorgeous but terribly striking nonetheless... and without that air of "celebrity" attached to them.

enh..to each his own. i think that HBC gets the character, but i always picture bella as have a cat like grace, even after she comes back from prison. from what i have seen, HBC does a good job, but she is just not what i imagined..... to me, bella is like the character angelina plays in original sin.

this is what i imagined her to look like.

*shrugs* I actually really like HBC as Bellatrix. I'm with roguebelle on the non-traditional beauty thing, particularly for post-Azkaban. Plus some of the more traditional actresses people tend to choose for PBs for Bellatrix don't really look... well, British.

But then, I don't know if I can really talk on that, considering I usually use Michael Wincott for Rodolphus, and Wincott is Canadian. XD It's a combination of his looks in The Crow as Top Dollar and his words/general attitude in Count of Monte Cristo (Mmm, jail scene. Wheee!)

And yes, I know Catherine Zeta-Jones is from the UK, but *shrugs* I don't know why I just never think of her as such. =)

I always use Rachel Weiss (sp?) for Bella and Hans Matheson for Rodolphus (although I always thought that Ralph Fiennes would have been a fantastic Rodolphus, well if he wasn't the Dark Lord that is...)

I imagine that Bellatrix would be too worried about Voldemort to even think about Rodolphus. If I were him I'd seriously be worried about my wife's loyalty to me.
