I love Prince!! I'm glad you posted this. I saw it was his b-day and meant to post something but I forgot. I have so many favorite songs by him - "Kiss", "Purple Rain", "Raspberry Beret", " I could never take the place of your man" and so many more!!! he rocks!

BWAAHAHAHAHA we could be related girl! I could almost see her giving you that "Girl, don't make me hurt you" look! Probably as good as one of my Dads eyerolls. He could physically cut you if he rolled them hard enough. I got the scars to prove it.

Prince was in a league of his own in the early '80's. Pure magic.
17 Days was a fantastic track.
Good to hear it all again.

Prince has a large chunk of my heart and soul on lock. I think 17 Days was the first B-side I ever heard and I fell in love with it and him.

In England an instrumental version of '1999' was used during the Top 40 Singles countdown every week and I didn't know it was Prince. Then when '1999' was re-released (1983)and I saw the video on TV I was blown away.
I bought all his albums and loved it all.
For me, he started to loose it when he got rid of the Revolution and he gradually went down-hill from then on.
I haven't bought an album of his for some years now, which would have unthinkable for me in the '80's!
Good luck with your job search by the way, I just read one of your posts.

I understand about not buying his work. He pretty much went off the rails for a bit. I do suggest, though if you haven't bought Musicology, you should get it. It's a fantastic album. It sounds like his old stuff, but better. I don't think you'll be disapponted.

Thanks for the luck, I need all of it I can get. ;-)
