Oh no! I hope your sister can find someone to fix it, or at least restore your files.
Open Office is a well respected Open Source alternative to MS Office. I've used it a little; it doesn't look at good, but it has all the essentials.
ETA: also, Microsoft has free downloads of viewers, so you can look at, but not edit Word and Powerpoint files, etc. There is also a 90 day free trial of Office 2007 which you could download to use as a stop gap.
I know this is no good to you now, but for the future, I heartily recommend Avast anti virus. It's free and it updates every time you're online, and it's absolutely genius at stopping viruses in their tracks.

Thank you very much for the advice with Open Office, I already downloaded it and it seems to work exactly like microsoft office.

Only lost my bookmarks, the rest is quite save, as I burned them on cd, but it still sucks, a few days before my departure, everything bad happens.
