So, as many of you know, my good friend magnificentmndi's son has been undergoing treatment for Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML). YES. I'm registered, and I was actually a match for someone. I donated peripheral blood stem cells instead of bone marrow, a procedure that seems to be easier on the donor and more successful for the patient--the impression I got was that it's becoming the preferred option, so if you do match someone, chances are that's what you'll do. It wasn't that much worse than donating blood.

My thoughts are with your friend and her son.
