Great guide on how to write summaries! As a reader I stumbled across so many fics that included the mistakes you stated and I appreciate someone making the effort to ease the situation, for you're right:
Better summaries make for more readers and more reviews!

Bad summaries are just annoying, as well as the fact that they seem to resemble each other a lot.
