Switch to tents. Hydrogen bomb. Huh. The military dropped a hydrogen bomb, did it? Is THAT the weird anomaly? That's what Des was trying to protect. HE'S IN LOVE WITH CHARLOTTE, AWWW. John invoked the name of Jacob. WIDMORE??! WTF??!?!?!?! IT'S CHARLES WIDMORE, SERIOUSLY? So apparently he's not a member of the Black Rock.
Okay, commercial break. So some weird shit is going on. I was thinking before that they might have to either back it so that Des doesn't press the button and make the plane crash (thereby sacrificing himself to the island and giving up Penny) or make it so that they don't blow up the hatch. I have no idea why, but maybe it'll come to that. It seems pretty clear that the bomb is what was in the hatch and why they had to push that button. And it might also explain the healing, since isn't radiation supposed to be good for you in some ways? But then Ben gets cancer from exposure? Maybe the deaths of the mothers, too...so maybe this is, in part, how we explain things religiously when we don't know the scientific explanations. But they're going to have to explain things really really well to get how they are seeing dead people and the smoke monster and the cabin and all that and time travel. Okay, back on.
Seriously, cutest baby ever. I love how Penny knows immediately when Des is lying. THE BABY'S NAME IS CHARLIE, OMG. <33333333 "I won't leave you again. Not for this. Not for anything." I have a feeling that is going to be tested. But I love him so. And I just want them to be together.
