This is going to affect me, and my son in 4 years. I'm going to have to pay more every year until I finish school to compensating for him having the same rate if he finishes a degree in a GA school in 4 years

But you already pay more each year now as it is right? Just with the average economy. I think this is a way to fix it for future generations - and motivated them... but as I read it tuition goes up each year anyway currently.
I think the only way it will feel like a punch to the 4 year students going into the 5th year is that it will be an all at once increase. Whereas you pay the small increase each year as it is.
Yes, I pay more each year. But I think the % increase will be higher each year that I am charged to make up for the fact that the price will be fixed starting with freshman this year. I'm conflicted about it, actually. I don't really pay it, as I have the Hope Scholarhip. Tuition and some fees are paid if you maintain a 3.0, and you get $75 per semester for books. But other fees are not paid, and I'm wondering how this will play into the equation. The Hope Scholarship is a wonderful thing, but every few years they say it's in danger. If it has to pay out more than was expected, what will happen to it by the time my son is ready to go to school?
I also wonder how this will affect non-traditional students who can't graduate in 12 semesters, because not everyone fits the mold of a 18 year old straight out of high school.
