So I've just been introduced to the combination of vine charcoal and the chamois. This drawing is nowhere near done, but I'm soooo excited about how beautiful the medium is I'm sorta freaking out.
This is gorgeous! The sense of it being curvy and shapely is remarkably savvy & technically magnificent. Having appreciated the technical, experienced aspects, it too has a real expressive appeal.
I'm always jealous of folk like you. My drawing sensibility, while absurdo and with an imagination I always feel freakishly founded in my arrogance concerning, I know craft-wise my style is rather simply 'realistic' & nothing more.
You seem able to not only have that crafty realistic abilty, but more then that often too a very distinct, expressionistic brilliance.
I think next to surrealism, my other favorite 'style' of sorts is that expressionistic approach of E. Schiele and co....
YES I just compared you with that literal genius. I mean it, though!
