Episode 5.04 - Discussion/Review [spoilers]
I don't think I can take the fact that each episode keeps getting better and better. My heart might explode from SQUEE.
Okay, first Lucifer/God is my side OTP for the show. "I loved him more than everything."
*waits to be struck by lightening*
So, lets breakdown the fangirly moments.
One: Dean and Cas' first phone conversation was so adorable. Though Dean totally left out what he really needed to be alone for! Hahaa. If Dean would just admit to things I'm absolutely sure that Cas would be more than willing to lend a hand.*dirty grin*
- And thank goodness Dean makes a habit of falling asleep in his clothing or else he'd definitely have a few embarrassing moments with all the time teleportation he does.
Two: The first phone conversation Dean has with Sam just broke my heart. It really did. The thing is I still think that Dean made some really good points to Sam that shouldn't just be forgotten because they were hurtful. Though I was happy to see that the Winchester's were reunited at the end of the episode and I really like where Sam is at mentally.
Three: future!Cas is adorable, I mean I just wanted to shave wash sex snuggle him to death. The poor angel obviously wasn't cut out for the humanity thing and wasn't dealing with it too well. Though, I loved how his first priority was still Dean. To me it was clear that Dean still held Castiel's full loyalty, even when he's totally drugged out so he doesn't have to deal with the agony that is the human condition and Dean is in total psychopath mode.
- It was interesting to see that past!Dean assumed that Cas would be the most important person to future!Dean, the person the he would want to protect the most. For me this came through most clearly when future!Dean revealed to past!Dean that he was going to send people to die as decoys and p!Dean said, "Even Cas?"
- Cas' entire, "I though you'd gotten over trying to label me," line can totally be read as a hint that Cas has sexed up some men as well as women. Think about it . . .
- Also, the reason that Cas instantly knew that he was talking to p!Dean is because f!Dean is the man Cas has been sexing. Plus, f!Dean probably has tons more Cas!Marks on him, just by the average one per year he has now.
Four: The car drive with Dean and Cas was just too sweet. I melted when Cas laughed. Really, that much beauty on one screen at one time should be illegal!!!
Five: Lucifer!Sam was very cool, though that awful white John Travolta suit from Saturday Night Fever needs to go. I thought evil was supposed to be stylish? Though I will admit Jared Padalecki did fill that suit out in an absolutely sinful manner. And Jeez no wonder Sam is Luci's vessel, he's the only person with the capacity to be so emo. Seriously, waking around in a rotting gothic!garden of Eden and molesting red roses . . . did Stephanie Meyer write that scene? I expected Dean's Single Crystal Manly Tear of Sorrow (tm) to start sparkling or something.
- Lucifer is also so gay for God that its not even funny. Really. Please be writing the blasphemous fanfic now, okay?
- Also, Dean crying as he talked to Lucifer broke my heart into wee little pieces. Why has no one nominated Jensen Ackles for an Emmy yet? Jared Padalecki also did a good job with the scene. To be honest his beginning was a little shaky but once he got going and figured out his "Lucifer Voice" he really did the scene justice - I felt his absolute confidence in the fact the he would win.
Six: Ahhhhhhh! When Cas saved Dean from Zach I totally bounced in my seat and flailed to the point where my puppy started barking in panic. It was so perfect! "Great timing Cas." "We had an appointment." I. DIED. The thing is the moment was filled with tenderness, which is weird, right? But Cas just had this gentle look on his face and Dean was so happy to see him.
- "Don't ever change." Do I even need to tell you what my reaction was? No, okay. I'm sorry if I broke anyone's windows. I wont go into the semi-hug that happened after, I'm not strong enough to contain another squee.
Seven: There is absolutely no way Dean is going to get out of becoming Michael. Which is cool, because I am dying to see some Michael!Dean/Cas or Michael!Dean/Lucifer!Sam stuff. Hell I just want to see the ultimate bad ass come out to play. I don't care how I get to see him.
Final Thoughts: So El Deano got teleported around a whole bunch by both Zach and Cas . . . I guess his first stop after was to a pharmacy to buy himself some Exlaxx? Gotta stay regular during the Apocalypse.

-I 'm 100% convinced that the reason Cas is so desperate to find an alternate method to killing the Devil other than Michael!Dean is to save Dean, otherwise why not just encourage Dean to become Michael and move on. Even in the horrible future, Castiel was the only one who wasn't encouraging Dean to accept Michael.
