Read it and weep

The first time I remember crying while reading a book was in 5th grade when we were assigned to read Where the Red Fern Grows. The way that some people were disturbed by watching “Old Yeller” as a child (which I still have never seen), I was traumatized by the story of Old Dan and Little Ann. Bridge to Terabithia was good. Don't forget A Seperate Peace!

Did anyone else have to real Isle of the Blue Dolphins in elementarty school? The class was supposed to, but I probably went home and listen to my Guns N' Roses tapes instead.

OMG, I read a Day no Pigs would die in a freshman english class. Our teacher read that chapter aloud too. The only shirt he could find to wear to his dad's funeral was a large, loose fitting shirt that his dad owned. And he cursed being poor.
