Musical Murder

Louis Walsh and Cian Egan of Westlife have put together a new band.
They still have no name but they were just on Irish tv... and I am appalled.
They did a cover of one of my favourite songs in the world - Dixie Chicks 'Not ready to make nice' - and it was bad.

Oh and surprise suprise - Cian Egan's girlfriend Jodi Albert is in the "band"... *sigh*

Oh no, how dare they - that's a brilliant song - I always listen to it when I'm pissed off and it makes me feel that it's ok to be pissed off - if you know what I mean lol.

I blast it in my car and sing along (almost suffocate for that long ranty bit!) and I feel so much better after!
But how dare a stupid girl band sing it... grrr
It's one of my favourite songs of all time...

Oh dear.

And I can never understand how people or bands can cover songs that are so obviously about something personal to the person who wrote it. I mean, that song is all about the uproar about George Bush etc. It's like people covering 'Tears in Heaven'. How can you do it?

I know!!!
I watched one of them sing the line "shut up and sing or my life will be over" with no emotion at all and just thought how they had completely missed the bloody point of the song...
Hopefully it was just to get on tv and they will not record it.
