[The Warrior has been thinking about putting up this message for some time, but the arrival of the statues has convinced him. While he's not entirely certain that they are a threat, they have convinced him that if things can change overnight, then it's best if everyone is prepared. He's got a bad feeling he should have done something sooner. Those ( Read more... )

[He didn't actually think of guns when he was saying that - he's still adjusting to the idea of them. But now that you mention it...]

Good. The more people prepared, the better.

[He's determined not to let people die.]

[Really, aside from your disdain for swords you're an alright guy, Wolfwood.]

Forgive me for asking, but are guns easy to use?

[Hey, he's got his reasons! They just don't happen to be good ones.]

As long as you've got hands and a pair of eyes, you're pretty much all set. Hitting anything is another story but practicing helps.

[Wolfwood pauses, conceding something.]

Not much use in close combat, though.

[Unless you happen to be him but that's a long story.]

As long as the person is unlikely to hit themselves, I do not think it matters. It would be unwise to draw an enemy into true combat without proper experience, but it sounds as though these weapons would be good deterrents.

[He makes a thoughtful sound.]

I suspected as much.

[He's mentally putting gunmen in the same category as archers and mages.]

Safety catch usually prevents that. As long as they're careful and they do regular maintenance, it should be fine. Yeah, I wasn't exactly planning on sending anyone out there with just a few hours of experience under their belt. It's just in case it comes to that.

[Wolfwood wouldn't disagree, for the most part. If they had better guns available, it'd be a different story but most of the ones provided are meant for medium to long-ranged attacks.]

[The Warrior can't really think of anything to say to that, except for:]

Thank you.

[He says it sincerely. He's glad that there's someone else out there willing to help with this.]
