VIRGINIA: October 6, 2008 is the deadline to register to vote.
MARYLAND: October 14, 2008 is the deadline to register to vote.
D.C.: October 6, 2008 is the deadline to register to vote.

Deadline to Register: The last day to register to vote to be eligible for the November 4, 2008 General Election is Close of Business October 6, 2008. Applications must be in the voter registration office or posted marked by that date. Normal processing time is about thirty (30) days.
Deadline for Absentee Voting: Applications for an Absentee Ballot by mail must be in the Voter Registration office by Tuesday October 28, 2008. The last day for In-person absentee voting is Saturday November 1, 2008.

Absentee Voting - A voter who will be absent or unable to vote in person in the election may request an absentee ballot . The deadline for a voter to submit a request for an absentee ballot by mail or fax is October 28, 2008. Absentee ballots are typically available for mailing approximately three weeks before an election.
