How very generous of you. I must admit, I never expected to see the day when you imposed such petty revisions upon yourself for my sake.

As to my ultimate revenge, there is only one way it could have proved more satisfying, and that is if I had been allowed to shove home the spit myself.

Yes, our marriage was political, but I was perfectly willing to let you be and do whatever you liked. You just HAD to go and make murder and money an ambition. Three should have had you committed to the Tower alongside Mortimer, or in his stead. You are lucky that filial affection spared you; for I am sure he was aware that Mortimer was, in all ways, your pawn.

I am told that you took orders later in life. How prudent of you.
