So my brother just stomps out of nowhere in the middle of the night to try and set our dog on our cat, trying to getting them to fight each other, when he knows they don't get along.

Welllllp, I gotta say, I can't really say I blame you, considering what you've written about him here so far. I think it's actually really GOOD that you stick up for your mom and her house and things... a lot of people don't do that!

Well, it's kind of hard to stand up on your mom's behalf when she tries to "diffuse" the situation by telling you to shut up, which signals my brother that my words holds no weight, and whatever I say means nothing. :/
