My entry is not about you. It's about me. I don't have to get over you being Texan because i don't fucking care and never denied it to You.

In your family, though it was not the plan [as you were only supposed to live there for two years] it was embraced. You were born there and lived there your entire life. Essentially, it's all you know. good for you.

I can't speak for your sisters and their experiences, but if they claim Texas as home, which I am sure they do and that's wonderful, and its fucking different story. As I recounted my experiences in Texas differ tremendously from the life that you have lead there. I know a different reality from you. I am not going to deny my history. I embrace and accept it. I do not say I never lived in Texas, I do not say that it has not influenced who I am, I simply say I am not from there--which I am not. Even in the short time we have spent here I have been influenced by Chicago, and doubtless I will have been impacted more upon graduation but then I do not intend to say that I am from ( ... )
