My 90 year old grandmother almost died tonight from a kidney stone blocking her only functioning kidney. I spent most of the afternoon and all of the evening at the hospital with her - She was transported from the local (read: small town) hospital to the city. The doctor was pretty grim on her chances of survival; she has a heart condition, only
