Ouch...

I went to the doctor today for a physical and ended up having to get 3 shots and a PPD test (aka tuberculosis skin test). I had to get a second chicken pox vaccine- apparently it's required now? -because I never got chicken pox when I was a kid, a meningitis vaccine (even though I won't be living in a dorm), and a tetnis vaccine. Now, for those ( Read more... )

Shots are the DEVIL!! *pats* I also hate needles with a vengeance (due, in part, to childhood trauma involving having blood drawn, as well as having a massive aversion to PAIN). The meningitis shot is probably a good idea, though.

They actually had to hold me down to give me one of my shots once. Literally held me in the chair and stabbed it into my arm. I was crying and whimpering like a baby, "Please let me go home..." Yeah. Hates to the needles.

I've had to be held down. I've also tried hiding and once I tried to run away. I've definitely had my times siting there crying "5 more minutes... 5 more minutes..." Once it took he poor nurse a half-hour to give me a shot.

I kicked a doctor once when I had to get blood drawn u.u; That was a long time ago, lol. Freshman year in high school I was sick a lot and they had to draw blood again to see if they could figure out what was wrong. It's easier for me to get blood drawn. It still hurts but it's not getting something pushed in where it doesn't belong and there is no room- thus, not sore for days after. I still get really upset though.

I'm one of those lucky people who don't fear shots. I just don't mind them all that much. And I especially don't fear getting my blood drawn. In fact, I regularly give blood and the needles they use for that are huge. ;P

What are you coming down to Florida for and what part of Florida will you be visiting? hehe Usually I'd complain about how hot it is, but it'll actually be a relief for you guys!! lol. I hope your trip goes well. <3

I feel bad that I don't give blood to the blood drives and stuff, but I'm just terrified. I tried to keep my weight down so I wan't heavy enough, but this year I gained a lot so it didn't work out. We have an annual blood drive at school and seniors are allowed to donte, but I was too scared u.u;

My dad, sister, and I are going to Disney World, Universal, and Sea World. I dunno if that's anywhere near you. Florida is HUGE. I can't wait to go and get on Rockin Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror over and over again. The drive is really gonna suck though u.u; None of us really likes flying too much and the auto-train crewed us over once- our train home got cancelled because the tracks flooded, so we had to drive home because we had school in 3 days. Whenever we go, it's at the end of August because the Florida kids are all back in school, so the lines aren't bad.
