It's amazing how we can take our bodies for granted. The lower back, for example, seems to be involved in almost every basic movement. I never really noticed this until now, as my back is in an extreme amount of pain. Simple things like, standing up from sitting, or rolling over in bed, are now major tasks. Part of a successful labor and birth is being OVER AND DONE with the "joy" of pregnancy and allowing yourself to transition to the next adventure...i.e. giving birth. When a woman truly loves being pregnant, she can have difficulty accepting that next important step. It sounds like you're emotionally ready to welcome this girlie when the time comes. Of course, in the meantime, BACK PAIN SUCKS AND YOU ARE JUSTIFIED BEING MISERABLE. It never helps when the doctor doesn't have an answer, but know there's one sure cure....birth!

I'm sorry you're in pain Crystal, and I'm also sorry I'll be out of town at a fundraiser for your shower. =( I really, really hope you have a lovely time. I know it sounds lame, but do you think regular relaxation could have an effect on your muscles, no muscle relaxer meds needed? Maybe aroma therapy, candlelight, quiet music or a really chill movie, deep breathing...make Gary give you a massage, and if you start feeling better, what about really simple seated yoga positions? The OT at my job is pregnant (due really soon) and she does seated yoga to help with her back pain. I hope you're feeling better soon, and I'm so excited for/proud of you for this hugely exciting change!
