meditate?

I have too many thoughts running around my head. I seriously need to stop thinking so much. like, tell my brain to take a chill pill.

how does one do this? I used to do yoga regularly, but lately it has become more habit and chore than anything else.

I used to meditate a lot. I went to a weird private elementary school where we meditated for a few minutes every morning. I kind of miss it.

I haven't meditated in a long time, and if I ever knew how to do it properly (in 4th-6th grade? Ha.), I've forgotten.

But, still, sit, close your eyes if you like, rest your hands somewhere that you're comfortable, and not actively moving your hands around and thinking about what you're touching, and just breathe. Focus on your breath. Focus on the blackness if your eyes are closed. Focus on nothing at all, and just breathe.

I rarely have any kind of experience that makes me feel like I've meditated properly, like I've really reached some point of true calm or peace or realization or anything, but, still, it can be nice to take a few minutes now and then.
