Tom's made some bad decisions and wasn't thinking too well, like Danny (and himself) pointed out. I loved his desperation in trying to make Dan stay. That was so powerful and made this chapter even (if that's even possible) more emotional!
PS: I can't control my emotions right now. *sobs*
