OMG I love that you didn't go with the girlfriend-turns-into-a-cold-heartless-bitch way that happens in many fics I read. :D Gio is amazing! I like the idea of Tom confiding in to her, even if it's not the whole truth. She's playing an (adorable) unexpected role here.
“What kind of shit is that?” Giovanna asked, and her choice of words made Tom lift his head up and look at her in confusion.
