Meat Loaf always makes me laugh. When Mere and I were watching Spice World a few months ago, we realized that he was their bus driver.

Ah, Meat Loaf.

Also, I thought I had no idea who Katherine McPhee was, but then i realized that she was the girl from American Idol. Ew.

Total ew. Thank god she lost. And that I also missed the alleged Meatloaf duet (although my dad saw it and confirmed its utter scariness).

The thing that is wrong with your comment is the part where you said, "When Mere and I were watching Spice World". No good comment begins that way.

I don't disapprove...I just don't think it's ever necessary to watch it unless one is under the influence of drugs/alcohol/bad late 90s pop withdrawal symptoms -- one of which, I suppose, could have been acting in that scenario. But really, none of them ever should. Not when girl power is involved.

Yeah, I saw it. it was just as weird as it looks on paper.

Ugh. I can't even -- and I don't want to -- imagine.

Glad you missed it. It was just wrong... Meat Loaf was doing his whole Bat out of Hell routine and trying to appear scary with a leather suit and red hankerchief in hand, and judging my Katherine's reactions, he was succeeding very well.

Prince was a nice surprise though. 47 and still able to move like that... Whoa.

And yay for Taylor Hicks!

Prince! I'm so glad I made it back in time for that one. :D

Yay for Taylor indeed! I would have liked to see Chris get it, but, meh, whatevs. I heard he was a prima donna anyways. And it tickles me that a gray haired chubby dude is going to be all over the place as the American Idol.

(ps, it kind of surprises me to hear that you watch! Because a) I didn't think they would air AI in Singapre and b) from the little I know of you, I never would have guessed you would be a fan! Or did you just watch the finale for the celebrities [which is probably much less painful than an entire season, sometimes]?)

We actually get a lot of American shows. I watch American Idol but not our local version, which just... gives me brain haemorrhage. I'm a fan of Taylor, weird as he is! Soul Patrol!! =P

I'm not really a fan per se actually, but the quality of the contestants this year wasn't too bad, and there was that charming chap they call Taylor.

The only things that were great about the finale were Prince and Dion Warick. Otherwise it wasn't terribly suspenseful like last year's. Heh.

Ah, yes. It was almost a toss-up last year; this season, Taylor was definitely a gimme. Once Elliot was out, all the ladies' votes came together for the one male contestant. And, well, he's kind of a adorable, in a graying Elvis kind of way. :D

(I would imagine that some American shows would get exported -- CSI, Lost, stuff like that -- but I didn't expect a contest-type show like AI to be among them! Is your local version just bad karaoke or tasteless dreck? Actually, sometimes AI is too!)
