Art for the sga AU whaleverse. Inspired by the wonderful story Tao of Whales which friendshipper wrote for ME. This is the pic that came to me when I read the story (as I cackled mine).

Oh, wow, that's an amazing colour palette! The orange-y colours really stands out. The city also looks very detailed. <3

I saw a print by an artist called
David Holliday of a night time scene and it just grabbed me. I'd read my Whaleverse story and I was thinking about what to draw for friendshipper and voila inspiration.

Oooh, that's a very mooooody and pensive!John. That's a lovely illustration -- I love his fae eyes. I would only suggest that the purple of the city behind his back and arms and hand be deepened a bit, as it pops to the fore a little. If it were a bit darker or just a quieter hue, it would recede to the background a little more around the foreground figure of John.

yep, I'd probably tweak a few things on this on reflection. I like it; it was fun constructing it, but yeah deepen the city and shade it; give John hairy legs *g* and I'd probably modify the thick lines of the fore-city
