Dougie called Mark about coming back.

Kinda makes me sad for Mark.. But I'm glad Doug's back! :D

From the Padre's site (in the notes about Mirabelli leaving):

"He called me this morning," Mark Bellhorn, Mirabelli's good buddy, said. "It's probably good for him. He really enjoyed his time there. He told me he's a lot more confident with that wall [the Green Monster] in front of him. ( Read more... )

this is great news. i'm sitting here, totally restless.
i just hope he'll get to start in something he's actually comfortable with.

-oh! if he could play backup catcher, that'll mean he'll be crouching for half the game. (just think of the legs.)

just overly proud of him.

Hahaha, oh no catching. I still can't get over the fact of last season when he realized he was the backup. Funny stuff.

He started at 3B today. I checked a little while ago when they were in the top of the 6th and he had had 3 AB's, with 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 2 K's. Average was still .323.. and still the highest in the lineup by far!

i just remember him quoting, "then i realized, it was me."

Do the sox play the Padres at all this year?

Nope. Sox went to San Diego in 2002, and the Padres came here in 2004, but nothing this year.

Whether or not he hates the outfield, if Bochy offers it, I'm sure he'll take it!

(Mark in the outfield always makes me think of a late-night argument on the Remy board--it was actually more of a fight between two people who argue a lot and were at each others' throats over a matter of semantics involving positions Mark had played vs. positions he had played for the Sox... anyway, another board member squelched the argument and cracked us all up by making this diagram:

oh wow. that diagram definitely made my day.
really, i don't care which position he's playing. just as long as he's starting, producing and just being happy.

make me proud!

So why does Belly hates the outfield? Or should I say why does it make him sad? LOL Funny diagram, right down to the curls!
