There were still a fair few annoyances last weekend, though. Cheesemonger's Hollow bugged, as did all the Dark Anchors and far too many of the quests.

The Malanie thing is allegedly due to her not respawning if people are camping too close to her spawn point - that's a rumour, so I'm not sure how true it is.

I may well get the game; not that I'm leaving Azeroth yet, but it makes a nice change.

I'd already done Cheesemonger's so didn't hit that issue. As for the apparent camping - hmm, that might well explain certain other similar issues. Last beta, I logged in on the Monday morning, found it relatively empty, and knocked off one mob who'd been steadfastly refusing to spawn earlier.

I'm not sure how the Dark Anchors are meant to work - they're certainly fun when they do spawn lots of mobs, and the resulting firefight is pretty entertaining.

It's not going to be for everyone - what is? - but I think it definitely suits my gaming. At least for now.

I was lucky enough to get Malanie on this beta - logged in right on top of her during a fight, got a zap off and dinged the quest ( ... )

Yeah, Gutsripper was tough.

The toughest seemed to be the skellies up on the Soulfire plateau. They were level 7, and they killed my then-level 14 Nightblade a few times.

So mob balance is somewhat odd at times.

Pushing all the octohedrons, yes, nice effect, and the first time round you get an achievement for that anchor. It does seem to get more frenetic as the ocothedrons drop, but yeah, more like a dungeon climax would be fun.

Hmm...I wonder how it compares to Star Wars: The Old Republic. Completely different genre, of course. Well, somewhat different, at least.

I don't think I've ever even seen SWTOR. so I can't help you there.
