Playing hooky today.

For the first time in my professional career, I have taken a sick day without really needing it because I was tired and just didn't want to go to work today.  Mind you, I'm clawing for things to do at work most days anyway.  So I usually wake up and wonder, "how am I gonna kill 8 hours today?"  :(  I can't wait to be busy again.

What are you doing/getting for your mom? I don't want to do flowers/chocolates because I did that for her bday in April so I need ideas!

So far I bought my mom two really nice potholders to match her kitchen(the mittens that actually have the silicone on them) because the two that she has are OLD and have holes in them! Hence, she burns herself occassionally! And I also got her two matching super-sweet microfiber dishtowles. Because she has a pathetic dishtowel collection and the... 3? that she has are old, thin, worn out, and non-absorbent. Aka useless. But because that was so simple I wanted to get one more thing to supplement. My mom loves food just as much as I do and she thumbs through my Cooking Light magazines when she comes over so I was going to get her a subscription to it but Ralph suggested I get her a "cooking light" type of cookbook instead.

Take a look around your house I guess and see if there is anything your mom needs. That's what I did.
