So um, that was really freakin' cute. I love how Joe was eaves dropping and his thoughts were pretty much perfect and very much like him.

First of all, THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS. Seriously. If you are ever worried about posting Alex/Derek fic in the future think of me, giving you a thumbs up and telling you your fic is awesome.

It doesn't happen very often but sometimes an author writes a pairing exactly as I see it and this is what you did here. Your characterization is so in line with how I view them that I was ecstatic reading and re-reading this story. That their relationship is on the mend and they still are so fond even though they've both been hurt--it's just perfect. I'm verklempt. You had me from the first line, what with Derek wooing Al back to him. Now that they are happy and champions I think their future is bright. And, uh, amkljgreohgiwnflwsa. I am now talking about them like a crazy person. Sorry.

Thank you so very much for your kind review! I'm glad that the way they were written came across as realistic for you - I was iffy about it. It was tough cramming their history into a story about their future, but I didn't think that they could have a future without putting their past to rest? I hope that makes sense!

I LOVED this story so much!<3 It's funny when Joe's eavesdropping on Derek and Alex. And I love the conversation and Derek trying to win back Alex too. So much angst and passion. Happy ending with these two haven't been around as of late in the stories that have been writen, so this ending was lovely. Are there going to be more stories on Derek/Alex? Because, I love your writing. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm thinking about drawing a picture based on this story. Great job! Did you draw that top part? That looks awesome!

There are DEFINITELY more stories in the works for this pairing. It's awful, I wrote one and thought I'd get them out of my system -- little did I know! Alex and Derek are too much fun to write.

I am so very glad that you liked the story and I'm more flattered than you can ever know that you're even thinking of drawing a picture. Seriously.

I am going to take off my friend hat and tell you this as a non-baseball watching BL reader but this story was fucking fantastic. I think this story transcends baseball. The dialogue was crisp, the pacing was just perfect and the back-story was so succinct. I loved it. There was so much drama/resolution in such a small space.

Ok let me put my friend hat back on and be petty and say DAMN IT! I wish I got home earlier to tell you how great this story was.

I would never have posted this if it wasn't for your urging. For real, you spent so much time listening to me[1] Freak out over it; [2] Babble about the plot; and [3] Freak out some more. You know I can never thank you enough for being such a good friend.

I'm really THRILLED that you got the story even though baseball isn't your thing. I was hoping against hope that it would come across for you - especially since their relationship is so damned complex! But that's what makes it fun!!!
