writing update.

So here is the breakdown of how my writing life is going right now:

Not only am I competing in the regular contest this month at brigits_flame, I'm also part of the all-stars competition. Which means two different prompts, two different pieces. Up until last night, I had no ideas whatsoever for either. And now I've got one strong one. However, it's a novel- ( Read more... )

I know. What's up with January? This was supposed to be our triumphant return. This is my face about that: >:-( Because I am sucking royally. Worse than December, even, and that's saying a lot.

I'd like to say something like "Don't worry, it'll all work out!" And then have this face: :D But between you, me and the wall, if you are as inspired by "Tragically Hip" as I was, I have no reassurances for you. And I have nothing to say about the All Stars prompt. It was awesome, I just f*cked it up, somehow.

But I do have faith in you. You are an awesome writer, and everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) you write leaves an indelible mark, so I'm sure you'll come it with something. Don't worry! It'll all work out! (I'm not sure about the face to put here, but imagine me, supportive and cheerful, in emoticon form, and know I'll read and love whatever you grace us with)

Good luck finding your Muse!

I mean ... tragically hip is not my favourite prompt in the world, but I find myself waaaay more inspired by that than take the cloth. Even if my idea is way too huge for the regular contest, at least I have one!

I'm sure your all-stars one is fineeee; I'll be reading it soon! Have you written tragically hip yet, or is it still giving you major migraines?

And awww, thank you! That vote of confidence means a lot. Hopefully I'll be able to drag SOMETHING out of me. :)

I wrote both today, but I'm not feeling it. They were both so bad, I was embarrassed to even submit them. It's like watching a train wreck in slow-motion. I just keep telling myself that if I write through it, it'll get better. It isn't even the prompts, it's me. One month we had monstrously bad prompts, and I blamed it on that, but this isn't the same. It's just that I've lost my mojo. I think I need to keep plying myself with chocolate. *nods* I find that when all else fails, a good dose of Cadbury really cheers me up!

Well, there's still time before the contest deadlines, so you can keep on tweaking! But I really doubt you've lost your mojo ... these prompts are definitely not great, that is for sure.

Haha and chocolate is delightful ... but for me, I need coffee or tea!
