"Elaborate" is correct as well. It's AmE, but I flim flam back and forth when writing as well. :)

I'm glad you liked it! Typically I don't care for angsty vampires because in most universes vampires are soulless ... which means to me that they can't be angsty. But in this 'verse, vampires do have souls, so it's basically a struggle to balance the human and monster within them.

I'm glad this came off well -- it was SO HARD trying to figure out how to weave it all together, and I'm happy you think it works, even if you did have nitpicky grammar things! :)

And yeah, Alex is a douche, but I mean ... I'd be pretty pissed too if food was the only thing I cared about and then I couldn't eat it anymore.

I love so many things about this piece. For one, the sections and how they're rendered.Though written in third person, I feel like you're giving us a true first person perspective. It comes through that you really know these characters ( ... )

I'm so, so glad this worked for you. I was struggling really hard with how to execute this idea, and eventually I just had to suck it up and just try -- luckily it came out half-decent ( ... )

Again, nicely done. C.C.'s part was interesting and well done, but I think Alex's piece spoke to me the most. Well, the bits about the food and whatnot...not so much the hunting and hatred. = )

But anyway, I can picture all of the carefully crafted food just sitting there uselessly, and I can easily imagine his frustration.

Thanks so much -- it seems Alex overtook this story, judging from all the comments. :) Probably has to do with the fact that food is completely and utterly irresistible (which I must emphatically agree with)!

Heh, most food and I don't get along. However, if I had to give up the food that I do like, it would indeed be devastating. (I'd miss you most of all, mocha chip ice cream.)
