I love sleazy rock and roll bios. The one that Steven Tyler's ex-wife wrote is insane. It's like she was having flashbacks the entire time so none of it is chronological.
bebe buell or w/e her name is, yep, I read snippets and it's pretty pathetic. At least this Crue bio goes along quickly and with a really nice sense of humor. The dudes know they were total douchebags and are owning up to the absolutely insane behavior.

Actually, this was written by Cyrinda Foxe-Tyler, but Buell is a big asshole, too.
Mandy knows a lot of rock bios that I haven't read, but all the ones I've read are great:
Stairway to Heaven (Led Zep) Hammer of the Gods (ditto) No One Here Gets Out Alive (The Doors) Backstage Passes (Angie Bowie on David Bowie) Dream On (the Aerosmith one)
Also, I highly recommend Please Kill Me: An Oral History of Punk and The Dark Stuff by Nick Kent. The latter isn't a bio, but is required reading if you like Syd Barrett, the Beach Boys, Brian Jones, and other drug casualties.

Also, if you can find the one that Cherie Currie wrote about The Runaways, get it! I think it's still out of print, though. I've never found a copy so I've never read it.

also, lets do a book trade... i'll send you something really awesome and then when we're done, we can discuss the two books. i'm sure i could be convinced to throw a mix cd or two in too.

Yes! I was already planning on mailing you the book to read with a mix. It's been awhile since I made a fun mix, and since you're a total motherfucking rockstar trade mix girl, it should be a good challenge.
