I've been having a kind of weird day, because while I'm totally excited about Obama, obviously, there's still the Prop 8 stuff and the fact that my state reelected Michele Bachmann, who, well. The nicest thing I can say about her is that she's completely unbalanced.
I mean, seriously. The woman tried to pass a bill overturning fluorescent lightbulb mandates because she thought the government shouldn't be able to tell us what kind of light bulbs to use, and yet she's tried something like three times to ban gay marriage. Right, that makes sense!
Plus there's the thing where she thinks "anti-American" Americans should be investigated, the way she blamed the economic crisis on minority homeowners, the way she tried to mack on Bush, and the incident where she claimed lesbians held her hostage in a town hall bathroom. Yeah. She's a piece of work. And the stupid thing is, most of her district didn't even vote for her - there's just this one pocket in the middle of nowhere that was solid red. I have no idea who these people are, but thanks for electing an official who makes our state look stupid and backwards, guys!
Anyway. Yesterday at work I was trying to type an address with "Penn" in it and I accidentally typed "peen." There were also two guys wearing giant belt buckles at one of our events this weekend (which is pretty unusual around here), and I literally faltered in the middle of a conversation because my attention was drawn straight to their shiny, shiny crotches. Fandom has officially eaten my brain.
