Anne Rice's Passing
I learned Anne Rice passed yesterday thanks to Tumblr. Usually learning news through Tumblr is amusing because it's either fake or just ridiculous, but this was kind of depressing as it was followed by discourse. I fully realize that Anne Rice was a terror to fandom and many have understandably negative opinions of her, but I've always really loved her writing style even if I didn't always understand her plot decisions. I always felt like I could see the place and era she described. Interview with the Vampire was a fantastic book and she had such influence on the vampire genre. I don't have much else to say, but I feel for her family.
