I know... I never would have guessed. Its so shocking to learn that all of the people, and teachers that you thought were just 'nice' turned out to be really sick fucks.
Absolutely shocking. But, I will say....I said something to the effect that he creeped me out in 7th grade. It was not a popular thing to say, and I can see why (everyone loved him). I'm not sure if I should be happy I have a good radar for that kind of thing, but apparently I do. I just could never imagine he actually would be that kind of a guy, remarks aside.
guys we need to remember that he has been accused of this, but it hasn't yet been proven. yeah he was a really nice guy (maybe too nice) but he is supposed to be assumed innocent until otherwise shown. however.. the chloroform thing is kind of odd and just.. doesn't making anything look good. it's so easy for a person's life to be ruined this way, i hate to jump on the 'what a sick bastard' wagon too quickly.
Yeah the chloroform is weird, but I remember he had this prop from the Batman show or something with a button in it that was supposed to open a trap door, or something like that...so I remember him having weird stuff. So I don't think that just cause he has weird stuff means he's a pedophile.
Of course, the article also says that he admitted to it, so...
I read in a Washington Post article that he admitted to showing the student a porn film at his house and giving him massages while the kid was naked. STILL really sick but not the like, full out shit they made it sound like when the story first broke.
I want to defend him as a teacher (he really was a great English teacher) and even as a person before he started being this way but it's hard to defend someone when you're not sure how much of his niceness had alterior motives. We just have to wait and see what comes out when he finally goes to court.
And I might just be stupid, but isn't choloform used to develop pictures, and they found undeveloped film negatives in his house too? Why is that suspicious, he probably just does a little photography (hopefully not THAT kind) in his free time. (I don't know, while I'm not terribly upset over this -- just sad for the sake of the victim and sad in general at the world these days -- maybe I'm just hoping for him to be as innocent as possible at this point.)
