  • Drawers of chilled satsumas, lemons, and grapefruit in the fridge, perfect for juicing into spritzers by adding cheap seltzer. They were picked at my aunt's hay farm the day of my grandmother's burial. Satsumas create a brilliant orange drink.
  • Demanding my fiance to make more lemon meringue pies from said lemons. They will rot if not!

I'll see! I'm not huge on the super-krewe parades. They're a bit nuts to me. I did attend Bacchus to see Drew Brees last year, though. I caught like 3 beads and a cup.

I LOVED THE CARD. I can't believe it had catnip on it: pretty perfect.

I mostly want to try king cakes I haven't had. Like Sucre and La Dolce Nola. We can squeeze in famous ones, though.

Have you had the french-style king cake from La Boulangerie? It is delicious. Also, re:wedding plans, did you know that you can get married in Audubon Park for free? There are a couple of places you have to reserve if you want to use them, but it's completely free aside from a $50 city permit: http://www.auduboninstitute.org/visit/parks/rentals/wedding-ceremonies
