(Not meant to be great writing-- I just wanted to sketch this out.)
Saffira had chosen to live in separate chambers from Ana and Dacha because of the extra room. Each chamber had been built with four residents in mind, so while Ana and Dacha's rooms were kept warm with fires and body heat, Saffira kept her room chilly. She hung her things on the walls using hooks and string and painted the marble with strange letters and symbols with brown and gray paint. The room had once been almost white, trim, barren: Saffira had turned it into a dark cave of primal objects, and the crowning glory of Saffira's collection was the skull of a giant deer whose antlers stretched across the entire length of the wall that she had hung it on, roughly eight or nine feet from end to end. Other skulls decorated the mantelpiece, bone and melted wax from candles intermingled freely, and some of those bones had once been human, and not all had died peacefully. Ana had once been bold enough to ask Saffira if she had killed them in Rylan's hearing, and Saffira had simply raised her chin, as if to reply, 'what do you think?'.
