Well, last week was pretty crazy. I started out by moving into the new house on Sunday, which is really nice... the previous owners did leave a broken basketball hoop (a large, free-standing one) in the yard and a working refrigerator on the sidewalk, and didn't do a perfect job cleaning the place out, but Airel and I are both happy with the place

As for Verizon... whatever you can do to make them waste money is a plus. That company is so very horrible that many of us gave up land lines just to not give them money.

From my experience, when the car is that damaged the insurance will total it. What happens is that they will "buy" the car from you. Whatever money is left on your lien they will pay off and the rest they send you a check.
FYI, something that most people don't realize is that since the insurance is buying the car from you, you can negotiate with them if you do not think they are giving you a fair price. They usually use an average of the blue book value and local selling prices to determine what they will give you.
When it happened to my sis she was able to get several hundered more for the car because she pointed out that some of the local car prices were "not local enough", ie they were out in the sticks and bringing down the average.
