Oil Spill

I really, really hate leaf blowers. Between the incessant noise and the insane amount of pollution, they give me a major headache. Plus, the weather has finally cooled, which led me to believe I could open the windows. Wrong. Now, the whole apartment smells like the Exxon Valdez crashed into the building.

Considering your other-half's reaction to anything but 100.00% pure air I can understand what you must be going through.

I agree agree AGREE. I'm not sure what the answer but little two-cycle engines we use in our lawns are noisy, inefficient, and filthy.

I don't see the point in blowing your leaves and dust from place 'A' to place 'B'. They should be outlawed or all converted into leaf mulchers.

I could put up with the ones that suck up the leaves and you can empty the bag onto your garden or into a bin.

Precisely.. they just stir up the dust and deposit parts of it on cards, windows, etc.

The sheer insanity of it.

I have an electric leaf blower, for what it's worth.

Most Germans have electric leaf blowers and lawn mowers. I rarely complained when I was there because they just don't have the smell or make the noise of the gas ones.

Leaf blowers are bad enough, but how 'bout an electric vacuum cleaner that leaves the same smell? I live in a condo building where the foyer areas are carpeted. A little man comes around twice a week with a vacuum strapped to his back to suck up the dirt we all leave behind. He plugs this thing into the wall socket. It is electric. But every time he leaves there is the very strong smell of combustion engine left behind. WTF?
